Wayne Lazzarato, Senior Vice President
Wayne Lazzarato, is an accomplished construction business executive with 30+years of construction experience and 20+ of providing leadership to Dufferin Construction Company. Wayne sits on the executive board of CRH Canada Group Inc. and is responsible for providing representation on the operations of Dufferin Construction Company. He provides overall leadership to the division level management team and is responsible for achieving the expected business plan and financial results of the company while implementing plans and policies to achieve overall corporate objectives. He was appointed to this role in 2011 after having served as General Manager for 5 years. Wayne began his career with Dufferin Construction Company in 1983 and has held various positions within the company. This history has offered him the opportunity to introduce new concepts where he has been instrumental in promoting a new level of growth and strategy in the operations of Dufferin Construction Company. Wayne received his Civil Engineering Technician diploma from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario and received his executive management education from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. Wayne is an active member of the construction community and has served on various industry boards.
Eddy Marin, Vice President
Eddy Marin, GSC is the Vice President where he is responsible for the successful operation and strategic management of the districts. Eddy was appointed to the position in 1999 after having previously served as a Senior Estimator/Coordinator and Project Superintendent. Eddy’s 28+ year career has been focus on airports, major infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects that have sponsored significant growth to the district. His expertise is concentrated on large scale complex projects. He received his municipal option diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from Seneca College in Toronto, Ontario and received his Gold Seal Certification from the Canadian Construction Association in 1998. Eddy has served as director and president of various industry association boards whose mandate is to foster the overall improvement of construction practices in Ontario. Eddy is presently an active board member of the Toronto Area Road Builders Association (TARBA), Heavy Construction Association of Toronto (HCAT) and a Director and Vice Chair of the Residential Civil Construction Alliance of Ontario (RCCAO). He previously served as past President of HCAT and the Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Contractors Association (GTSWCA) where he has also Chaired Union Negotiations.
Peter Gamble, General Manager
Peter Gamble is a seasoned construction business professional with 30+ years of construction experience providing operational leadership to the company. Peter was appointed to the position of General Manager of Operations in 2009 and serves as member of the division level management team. He is responsible for providing management leadership to the front-line operations of the business; in the area of Concrete & Asphalt Manufacturing operations, Quality Control and providing the specialized equipment technology and resources needed to deliver the general and specialized concrete paving, asphalt paving and structural services of the business. Peter is actively involved in many industry associations whose role is to address various industry specific issues. He has served on the executive board for the Ontario Hot Mix Producers Association and Ontario Road Builders Association.
Carl Cassian, Legal Counsel
Carl Cassian, LL.B, is in-house legal counsel with CRH Canada Group Inc. and the principal legal advisor to the Dufferin Construction Company, A division of CRH Canada Group Inc. Carl’s experience spans over 13 years’ as a practicing lawyer in Ontario, including 6 years in a private practice setting and 7+ years as in-house counsel with two major Ontario transportation infrastructure construction companies. Carl’s responsibilities involve the provision of general and specific legal advice to management teams and divisions, identification of risk areas, implementation and training of risk management protocols, construction contract and joint venture agreement review and preparation, subcontractor and consultant contract negotiation and preparation, labour collective agreement negotiation, claims management, compliance issues and the selection and management of external legal advisors.
Krish Gupta, Regional Controller
Kirsh Gupta, CGA, MBA, ACA is the Regional Controller of Dufferin Construction Company, A division of CRH Canada Group Inc. Kirsh has spent 20+ years as an international accountant where he operated in a leadership role for many known international companies. As the Regional Controller Krish is a member of the division level management team and provides leadership to the finance and accounting areas of the business. Krish is a member of Certified General Accountants of Ontario and earned his MBA from University of Toronto.
James Wildish, Vice President of Partnerships & Ventures
James Wildish, P.Eng, MBA is a Professional Engineer and the Vice President of Partnerships and Ventures at Dufferin Construction Company an operating division of CRH Canada Group Inc. James is an accomplished leader with a career in the construction industry that spans over 20+ years. As the VP of Partnerships and Ventures James is responsible for new business development and leadership to project teams responsible for the procurement and delivery of projects under the umbrella of alternative delivery models. James 20+ year career in the construction industry, has provided him with the opportunity to have participated in the completion of a number complex projects in the heavy civil transportation sector. James received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, a joint degree awarded from Northwestern University and York University. He received bachelor of civil engineering degree from McMaster University and became a registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario in 1996.
Louie Larocca, Disitrict Manager - Central Ontario & Western Canada
Louie Larocca, P.Eng is a Professional Engineer and is the area District Manager for Central, Ontario and Western Canada where he is responsible for the successful operation and strategic management of the district. Louie has spent over 20+ years of his progressive career in the construction industry were has had held various roles in field operations and project procurement areas of the industry. As the District Manager, Louie is a member of the division level management team and brings extensive knowledge and experience in the estimating and execution of projects of varying procurement models. Louie provides leadership to the estimating and operations teams of the business. He received his bachelor of applied science in civil engineering degree from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario and became a registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario in 1993. Louie is an active member of the construction community and is presently an active board member of the Greater Toronto Sewer and Watermain Construction Association.
Ryan Farrish, District Manager-Western Ontario
Ryan Farrish, P.Eng is the area District Manager for Western, Ontario where he is responsible for the successful operations of the district. Ryan was appointed to the District Manager Position in 2010 after having served in both the operations and marketing areas of the company as a Project Superintendent and Project Estimator/Coordinator. Ryans 20+ year career in the construction industry, has provided him with the opportunity to have participated in the completion of a number complex projects in the heavy civil transportation sector. He received his bachelor of civil engineering degree from Lakehead University and became a registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario in 2007. Ryan contributes his time to a number of industry boards whose mandate is to foster advancements to the construction industry.
Peter Hamstra, District Manager-Southwestern Ontario
Peter Hamstra, GSC is the area District Manager for Southwestern Ontario where he is responsible for the successful operations of the district. Peter was appointed to the District Manager Position in 2009 after having served as a Senior Project Manager for the district. Peter’s 25+ year career in the construction industry has provided him with extensive knowledge and expertise in the Municipal, Commercial and Industrial construction markets. He received his Construction Engineering Technician diploma from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario and received his Gold Seal Certification from the Canadian Construction Association in 2006. Peter has served on various industry Association boards whose mandate is focused on construction industry issues.
James Lafontaine, Health, Safety & Environmental Manager
Jim LaFontaine is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) with 27+ years’ experience of servicing the construction industry. Jim is the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager at Dufferin Construction Company, A division of CRH Canada Group Inc. As the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager Jim has been a member of Dufferin Construction’s Senior Management team since 2001 and provides leadership to over 850 employees by providing services in Health, Safety and Environmental Programs. He received his Bachelor of Technology degree from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in 1985 and received his CRSP in 2000. Jim is the Ontario Road Builders Association Management representative on the IHSA’s Provincial Labour –Management Safety Committee and has been the co-Chair since 1999. Jim has also been a member of the Ontario Traffic Manual – Book 7 Committee and most recently provided guidance to the Ministry of Labour’s Chief Prevention Office on the Working at Heights Training standard committee. Jim was recognized for his efforts and contributions in promoting worker safety in 2009 where he received the Ontario Road Builders Association Distinguished Service Award. Jim has a team of dedicated safety professionals who successfully implemented the IHSA COR program in September 2013. Jim was an active member of the WSIB Civil Safety Group from 2002 – 2010 and continues to promote OH&S throughout the industry as a member of the ORBA OH&S committee and active participant in many other stakeholder seminars across the Province.
