Our Occupational Health & Safety Department provides support in all aspects of health and safety relating to field and administrative operations. We are committed to ensuring the health and well being of the public, the environment and all Dufferin Construction Company’s employees, subcontractors and suppliers.
Dufferin’s priority is focused on the mission of ZEROHarm to people, and our culture is one where all employees are aware that their health and safety is of our highest concern and a condition of employment. The two pillars of the ZEROHarm protocol are Communication and Ownership, and to support this we have implemented a robust Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System that provides management and employees with the structure and programs required to achieve this protocol within our culture.
Dufferin’s safety culture is supported by a sophisticated Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System.
The program’s attributes include:
- Presented with numerous Safety Awards
- Developed and modeled after the OH&S 18001 guidelines.
- Externally audited on an annual basis by the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association.
AS OF JULY 1, 2015, DUFFERIN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
IS IMPLEMENTING 100% MANDATORY EYE PROTECTION ACROSS ALL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, YARDS, SHOP LOCATIONS AND PLANT AREAS. THIS APPLIES TO ALL SUBCONTRACTORS, VENDORS AND VISITORS UNLESS DESIGNATED AS A PPE FREE ZONE.
