Marine

We have a long history of working in, around, over, and under major waterways. From reconstructing the aging infrastructure of the St. Lawrence Seaway to being part of the team that built the largest hard rock tunnel in the world connecting the Niagara River to the Sir Adam Beck Generating Stations, we have the capability to undertake all marine construction challenges.

Through the use of internal and external resources, we have developed various construction methods to suit each unique marine application. Marine construction can present many challenges, including but not limited to vessels navigating the waterways, ice flows, protection of aquatic life and seasonal operating restrictions. We have a proven track record of completing large marine projects in tight timelines, all the while being sensitive to a multitude of environmental restrictions.

Some previous projects include:

  • Relocating mussels and constructing a new bridge across the Grand River
  • Refaced lock walls and building tie-up walls for lake-going vessels in the Welland Canal
  • Building a massive coffer dam and concrete accelerating wall in the Niagara River just above the Falls
