Project Engineer
Supervisor: District Manager
Location: Central, Western or Eastern District
Position Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Project Superintendent, the Project Engineer provides administrative and engineering services on various projects related to construction or repair of roads, bridges, airports, sewers and watermains.
- Assist the Project Superintendent in planning, coordinating and supervising construction activities including crew and equipment
- Establish and monitor construction work schedules
- Maintain plans, specifications, cost, and material estimates, subcontract and reports
- Coordinate proper procurement of construction materials ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of purchase orders
- Maintain accurate cost control plans
- Calculate all productivity and material yields
- Expedite progress payment certificates, final payment certificates and all extra work orders as per contract
- Arrange and conduct construction field services as required
- Maintain duties related to Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for construction projects, including accident investigation and reporting, health and safety committee meetings, claims management etc
- Process time sheets for payroll and cost control purposes
- Process material packing slips
- Maintain diary for each project on a daily basis
Educational Criteria
Civil Engineering Degree OR Civil Engineering Technologist or Technician Diploma and related experience
