Dufferin Construction Company is proud to receive the Canadian Construction Association's 2004 Excellence In Innovation Award for the Dufferin - SlipStone Extruded Wall System. This innovation in road construction uses a rubberized mould that wraps around a roller attachment and fits onto a standard slip-forming machine, for median and barrier wall construction. The result is to virtually eliminate the traditional hand-formed barrier process, and thereby reducing labour costs by two-thirds.Description of the Award
The Excellence in Innovation Award is a prestigious award given by the Canadian Construction Association and is sponsored by the National Research Council of Canada. A gold medal along with the Hugh R. Montgomery Memorial Trophy is presented to the winner of this award.
The Excellence in Innovation Award is presented to an organization which has demonstrated innovation in Canadian construction practices. The construction practice must demonstrate innovation by definition, an ingenious solution to a problem arising in the course of construction, by demonstrating the practical skills by which designs are translated into reality.
