  • Excellence in Innovation Award

    Canadian Construction Association

    Dufferin Construction Company received the Canadian Construction Association’s Award of Excellence In Innovation in 2000. Dufferin was presented this award for the demonstrating innovation in Canadian construction practices. Dufferin received the award for the use of the Hi-Load Shoring system that was implemented on the elevated frontage roads project at Toronto, Pearson International Airport. This prestigious award was given by the Canadian Construction Association and is sponsored by The National Research Council of Canada. A gold medal along with the Hugh R. Montgomery Memorial Trophy was presented.

    Structural Design Innovation

    Ready-mix Concrete Association of Ontario

    Dufferin Construction Company receive the Ready Mix Concrete Association’s 2001 Ontario Concrete Award under the category of Structural Design Innovation. This award acknowledges excellence and innovation of projects the categories of; Architectural Merit, Structural Design, Material Development & Innovation, Specialty Concrete Products/Applications and Sustainable Development. Dufferin received this award for the construction of Perley Bridge in Hawkesbury, Ontario. The design of the structure required the placement of 476 precast concrete girders that spanned 68 meters in length and required a special designed gantry launcher to lift and place each girder onto the substructure.

    Dufferin Construction Company received the Canadian Construction Association’s Award of Excellence In Innovation in 2004. Dufferin was presented this award for the demonstrating innovation in Canadian construction practices. Dufferin received the award for the use of the Dufferin – SlipStone Extruded Wall System that was implemented on the Kenilworth mountain access road in Hamilton, Ontario. This prestigious award was given by the Canadian Construction Association and is sponsored by The National Research Council of Canada. A gold medal along with the Hugh R. Montgomery Memorial Trophy was presented.

    The Dufferin-Slipstone Extruded Wall System receives the Canadian Construction Association’s Excellence in Innovation Award in 2004 for use of patented slipform concrete wall system with stone pattern on the Hwy 420, Niagara Falls, Ontario.

    Ready-mix Concrete Association of Ontario

    2003 Ontario Concrete Award under the Specialty Concrete Applications category for their innovative Hi-Load Shoring System, which was featured on the elevated frontage roads project located at Pearson International Airport in Toronto. The use of a Hi-Load Shoring System has proven to be 50% more efficient than the conventional scaffold systems, thereby reducing costs. This system has also accelerated the overall construction schedule at this project. This award acknowledges excellence and innovation of projects the categories of; Architectural Merit, Structural Design, Material Development & Innovation, Specialty Concrete Products/Applications and Sustainable Development.
